About Sniper Rifles in BF4

Sniper rifles are long-barreled precision weapons that are primarily designed to take out enemies from great distances in a stealth-like manner. In other words you won’t be running around in the midst of the action. Instead you’ll be finding a great spot up high with cover or lying down in a place where you’re unlikely to be seen and firing upon your foes across the map.

Battlefield 4 Sniper Rifles

In Battlefield 4 snipers are one of the most popular choices of weaponry, especially in the Conquest and Rush game modes on the large, open maps that the game has become so well known for. It is in these environments that sniper rifles excel. A typical sniper can blast enemies away in 1 to 2 shots (usually) even from across the map.

Here are the snipers that are available in BF4:

Tips for Using Sniper Rifles

While snipers are by far the most powerful weapons in Battlefield 4 they also take a great deal of skill to use. Sniper bullets travel far but also drop slightly over great distances. When using these guns you’ll have to fire slightly above stationary enemies that are a great deal away. If your target is further away AND on the move you’ll have to compensate for the bullet drop as well as plan your shot to be slightly ahead of the target where you believe he/she is moving to.

Battlefield 4 Sniping Tips

Another important concept when sniping is making sure you ALWAYS have cover to retreat to. Even if you don’t miss your shot you may still give away your position to other nearby foes who will zone-in on you for a kill. In order to avoid being seen you need to be able to retreat to behind a rock, wall, box, or some other form of cover immediately after taking a shot. Staying hidden is a very important objective for a talented sniper.

Attachments for Snipers

There are many different attachments available for use on sniper rifles. A lot of them serve little or no purpose on these weapons, though. The main things you’ll want to add to your sniper will be new optics and the bipod. A few of the new sights will give you the ability to see enemies even further away than normal (such as the 14x Variable Zoom). The bipod, on the other hand, stabilizes your sniper so you don’t have to manually steady your shots as much (holding your breath).

Battlefield 4 Sniper Attachments

There are numerous other attachments available that you can play with, too, though, including other enhanced sights, silencers, and lasers. Another tool that you may find useful is the Straight Pull which eliminates the need to come out of zoom to pop off sequential shots.

  1. “While snipers are by far the most powerful weapons in Battlefield 4″ I would of thought that was an RPG.
