With the official release date of Battlefield 4, Dice’s fourth installment in the epic FPS series, just around the corner the developer of the game has released more information regarding the upcoming beta for the game. The BF4 open beta will begin on October 4th for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC gaming platforms. The beta will run all the way through October 15th for extensive testing.
Dice did, however, put out new details about the beta stating that it will consist of 1 map – Siege of Shanghai – and two different playable game modes – Conquest and Domination.
The goal of the beta is to help the developers find any bugs that need to be fixed, stress test the servers to ensure they will operate properly with tons of players logged in, and get feedback from gamers as to how the game plays. The team has said that this will provide them with essential information for the upcoming Xbox One and Playstation 4 versions of the game, too.
Battlefield 4 (the full game) will officially launch on October 29th (for North America) and will be available for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. The same platforms in Europe will gain access to the game on November 1st. Both the Playstation 4 and Xbox One next-gen consoles will be getting the game on the day of their launch.
